Family Counseling

All families have strengths and weaknesses.  When a family seems "dysfunctional", it may be time to obtain some outside help. 

In family counsling we look at the system for change, as opposed to an individual, and emphasize family relationships as an important factor.  We would explore the "roles" of each member and identify the ways that relationship and individual problems are caused and maintained by the family dynamics.

Family counseling may consist of the entire family, just a few members, or there may even be sessions with just individual members.  Occasionally there may be a need to include other people such as extended family members.
